Dear friends,

Every release is magic, and this one is no different. Forest Fire is finally out in the world, and I am so happy to be able to share it with you all. 💗

You can listen to it here or on your favourite platform

Listen to Forest Fire

An intimate song that uses the metaphor of the forest to talk about the journey of a relationship, undergoing a deep transformation.

In relationships, two inner and outer worlds meet and undergo a process of expansion, adaptation and negotiation. There is an opportunity to grow not only as a unit of the relationship but also individually.

Often, relationships are a great mirror of our biggest patterns — the ones we can’t see when we’re alone. They reflect our fears, our desires, our old wounds, our hopes. Through them, we can find ourselves again and again, prioritising our self-expression, while walking the path together.

The element of fire represents the quality of life that is here to burn, cleanse, and transform. That part within us, too, that knows it is time to let go of the past, cleanse the old and all that isn’t serving, to clear space for growth.

If you want to read more about the story behind the song, I’ll be sharing more about it in my Patreon community.

Lyrics

Verse 1
Our love is a rainforest
Sanctuary of shimmering leaves
Lying under sequoia trees
I see the rain caressing my skin
A veil of dew on the canopy
I feel safe and free of care
But trust is burning in the distance
I smell danger in the dense wet air

Chorus
Our forest is on fire
Leaves are turning grey
But trees will grow much higher
Flames will only cleanse decay
We welcome this fire
I know we will be brave
It is my deepest desire
To grow together again

Verse 2
I’ve been scorched by fire before
My wounds are carved into my bark
I’m not my pain, but pain leaves a mark
So I always expect the worst
But like trees, I can grow in the dark
I surrender to the flames
My past is burning, creating space
My branches free from the weight of blame

Chorus
Our forest is on fire
Leaves are turning grey
But trees will grow much higher
Flames will only cleanse decay
We welcome this fire
I know we will be brave
It is my deepest desire
To grow together again

Outro
Indigo smoke fills the air
The past is gone—we’re laying bare
Rotten limbs now nourish new seeds
We’ll watch them grow patiently
While the moon lights up the Earth
This will be our forest rebirth
